Is My Girlfriend A Threat To Me?

Dear newsblog, I need you honest advice on what to do. I am still a young man and any mistake now will have a grave effect on my future. So please, help a brother.

Be objective and consise please. It is a long narrative.

I have a girlfriend whom I have been dating for up to 10 months now. She has all the qualities of wife, friend and a partner. I mean, she prays for me, supports me and do many things that places her above average.

I've two issues that are bugging me;

First is, I just graduated from the University and started to follow the road map I designed for my life. I am hardworking, so I started doing business immediately after my defense. Interstate exports of perishables. While I was in school, I made a lot of money doing designs for students; I am a UI/UX designer. The problem here is that I can't account for all those monies I made. A lot of expenses especially for my girlfriend. Even till now, I am supposed to send her some money but will I continue like this? I need stability in my business and need to save more and need capital for the last mile logistics company I want to set up next year.

Second issue is; I recently returned from an event I attended in Lagos some days ago, I came back very late and was grossly tired. While we were chatting, she asked me some questions which I told her I was very tired and eventually, I slept off. My phone beside me till the next morning. Fast forward to yesterday, I told her of my intentions to concentrate more in building for the future - it doesn't mean our relationship would be off. She started asking questions like "do you need some space?" "Am I bugging you?" She also said I don't "speak her language enough" language here is bonding, intimacy and closure. I was surprised at her response.

I noticed she'd be online for a long time and won't reply me on time, so I asked her who she was chatting with and she replied someone. I ignored her. This morning she called, while we got talking I asked her about the person she was chatting with. She told me the guys name. And asked if I will forgive her of anything, I said yes. She now said, she was introduced to the guy and they got flirting from the day I came back from my journey and told her I was tired and needed to rest. Her excuse was that, I pushed her to and she just wanted someone to speak/talk to.

Now, my question is, Should I move on with my business and focus, or, should I continue with the relationship? I don't want to be with someone that gives up on me easily.

P.S I love her so much. And she does too. We've through a lot together.

Collapsed Synagogue Guest House: Church Closes Case

New

Defendants in the collapsed Synagogue church building Guest house closed their case at the weekend with the cross examination of their last witness in a Lagos high court sitting at Igbosere.

During resumed proceedings, the court heard that the mode of collapse of Synagogue church Guest House negated the characteristics of collapsed building with structural defects.

Professor Patrick Nwankwo stated this while being crossed examined by the Lagos State Director of Public Prosection, Mr Yequob Oshoala.

Nwankwo, a Professor of Structural Engineering and Construction Materials an expert witness at the instance of Engr Oladele Ogundeji who is facing trial for the collapsed building as its Supervising Engineer was before Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo.

"Any defective building whether emanating from under or over reinforcement, poor constructional materials among others will have a ductile type of collapse.

"That of Synagogue Guest House was too catastrophic and such could only have been caused by an external factor".

Asked by counsel to first defendant, Olalekan Ojo (SAN) what he meant by "the type of collapse", the professor of structural engineering clarified: " if defective or substandard materials were used, the mode of collapse would be ductile and gradual".

He shared in the views of the prosecution that a building with defective structural and substandard materials could lead to collapse.

He however maintained: "different mode of types of collapse is dependent on types of materials used.

"The characteristics of a building coming down on itself is different. If it is structural defect or use of defective materials, the mode of collapse will be ductile and gradual.

"This is not the case with the collapsed Synagogue church guest house. This building has about 12 frames. The frames, beams, columns would not all have collapsed at the same time. It can only happen by some external forces", he said.

While further responding to questions from the DPP, Professor Nwankwo an international expert said he was motivated to conduct investigation on the collapsed Synagogue church building by its unusual mode of collapse, professional and academic concern noting: "Engr Ogundeji is a known competent professional colleague whom I have known over time".

Nwankwo who said he conducted the investigation by visiting the place, asking questions, examining the various investigations already carried out and the technical drawings on the building stated that his reports submitted to the court was thorough in the integrity of the profession".

The European trained expert who had earlier conducted various researches on collapsed structures in the country said he was not involved in the previous enquiries instituted by Corona Inquest on the collapsed Synagogue church building.
Responding to DPP on the Orion Design Software output he faulted on the first prosecution witness against the collapsed building, Nwankwo who is also a Master in Orion design Software operation said what was earlier interpreted from the Orion output was completely wrong because "there's usually a print out of whatever is rejected by Orion software which was not the case here. I used the same 750mm by 225mm and it was not rejected by same Orion design Software as can be seen evidentially in my report. "

Earlier in the cross examination by Mr Oluseye Diyan, Chief Efe Akpofure SAN and Mrs Titi Akinlawon SAN, the erudite scholar and expert in Structural engineering stated there were appropriate international standard codes guiding construction industry and he had examined the collapsed Synagogue church building's structural elements, its design and construction works meeting all the required appropriate codes.

He also revealed that the reports earlier submitted by the witness to the prosecuting counel is mischievous.

He admitted that when a wrong code is in existence, it will affect the conclusion and can’t be relied upon.

He said such conclusion could be termed mischievous.

He admitted the calculation in the report submitted by Lagos state is erroneous and the implication is that exaggerated result will be gotten and the conclusion can’t be relied upon.

He confirmed that since the calculation is wrong, more errors are in that reports findings and as such can’t be relied upon.

He, however, defended himself that his own findings in report he tendered in court Is the required code of practice in Nigeria.

The trial which has been on since 2014 when the building collapsed in which many nationals died has undergone protracted trials with several witnesses drawn by both the prosecution and defendants.

Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo adjourned the case to January 24, 2020

Kidnappers Kill Member For Fleeing With N5m, Buying Lexus (pics)

Newsblog

Suspected kidnappers, 28-year-old Best Kevwe Iweh and Emmanuel Tomson (30), have reportedly murdered a member of their gang, Raymond Enahon.

Iweh and Tomson were arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police Special Intelligence Response Team (IRT) for the murder.
According to the police, the suspects, on August 19, 2019, murdered Enahon for fleeing with N5 million ransom, which the gang had earlier extorted from a victim’s family.

After fleeing with the money, Enahon bought a Lexus ‘Jeep’ and lavished the rest on his numerous girlfriends.

IRT operatives later found Enahon’s remains in a shallow grave at Obiaruku village in Delta State. The operation was led by a Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Abba Kyari, who is the national head of the IRT units.

According to sources, Kyari and his men launched investigation into the activities of the kidnappers following a directive from the IG, Mohammed Adamu.

It was further learnt that Enahon’s body was exhumed after Iweh and Tomson were arrested. The suspects led IRT team to the shallow grave to recover Enahon’s body.

A police source said: “The downfall of the gang started after IRT operatives, on the instruction of the IG, went to Delta State on the trail of a notorious kidnapping gang, led by Best Kevwe Iweh. The gang, who is a native of Oria Abaraka in Delta State, was successfully arrested. He is a notorious kidnapper and had been terrorising Delta State. The second suspect, Emmanuel Tomson, was arrested on August 18.

“Both suspects have confessed to several kidnappings, including the kidnapping of a former finance officer in Delta State in August 2018. They also admitted to kidnapping and killing Raymond Enahon, their gang member. Raymond bought a Lexus RS 330 from N5 million ransom realised from one of their kidnappings.

“Raymond collected the ransom and fled. They confirmed that Raymond bought a Lexus from the money and spent the remaining part of the ransom with his girlfriends. According to the suspects, they lured Raymond somewhere and killed him. After killing Raymond, they sold the jeep for N1.8 million.”

Kyari and his men, it was learnt, are still working round the clock to arrest other fleeing members of the gang.

Is Black Friday A Scam?

Newsblog

First of all, What is Black Friday?
Black Friday is an informal name for the fourth friday in the month of November. It is a name givento the shopping day after thanksgiving in the USA.

The friday after this thanksgiving is the most profitable day of the year. Accountants use black to signify profit when recording in their entries. So black Friday means Profitable Friday to retailing. Although these days, It is no longer just a day, a weekend or even a full week. It is prett much of November and December.

This is the period where you get pretty low prices for goods and services. Though it is known for the lowest prices of the year, It is also one of the worst time to shop.

Black fridays are used to attract customers by offering few products at a discount. Then once these deals run out, the retailers have still got the consumers because you are already in their stores or sites at which point you are likely to buy something else.

Let's take a look at some of these deals; an Android Tv worth #500,000.00 naira that's going for #300,000.00 naira or a smartphone worth #80,000.00 naira going for #40,000.00 naira. How do retailers afford to part with these products at ridiculous prices?

They Can't and They Don't...

What they do is sometimes offer lower quality products at ridiculous prices.
But, some products are real. They are the same items we see all year round in which case it probably pays to jump on what could be their lowest prices of the year, right?

Wrong.
According to the wall street journal, most items are offered below black friday prices at different times throughout the year.
What this means is that you are likely to get a better deal on a TV just a week before a major Football competition, or on a mobile phone after the release of a better version.

But there are always exceptions and if you play your your cards right, you might come away with very handsome deals.

Remember buying a product you don't need at half the price isn't saving money, It is wasting the amount spent on the product.

So is black Friday a scam? Well it depends on you.

My Encounter With A Yahoo Boy

Newsblog

It was a sunny day in the month of October. I never really wanted to go out but my friends persuaded me much that i had to oblige.
So we went out to a fancy, ordered our and drinks and then we started gisting and laughing.
3 guys walked past us but one of them came back to where we were seated and said he wanted to me in private.. Hmm i was surprised and thought it was guys usual way of toasting a lady so i went with him. (before then i asked my friends to keep an eye on us incase there's any suspicious movement).
So when we got outside and stood beside his car,i saw the two other guys that were with him initially. At that point i never knew i was already charmed by the guy. He asked me to enter the guy and i sheepishly followed.
Fortunately for me,my friends saw what happened and ran to the spot to drag me out(i was at door of the car with one of my leg in it).
It was a chaotic scene that attracted the security men and some passersby. It was then that the charmed started fading and i realized what could have happened to me.
Finally the guys were arrested and taken into detention.
Moral lesson :try not to go out with someone you don't know to avoid being in the kind of situation i was in OR worse. And also stay with good friends who will readily to anything for you to help you or keep you safe.

Problems In Rice Production, Processing And Possible Solutions In Nigeria

 Newsblog

The rice sector in Nigeria is one of the most important remarkable agricultural developments over the decades . it is the most consumed staple food by Nigerian's over 174 million people across states and geo -political zone.Nigeria is the highest consumer of rice within the west African sub region.
Nigeria has made a significant strides towards increasing rice production over the last few years. Several research and development initiatives have been launched and are significantly contributing to what is likely to become a leading trend of increasing rice production in west Africa.
Rice processing involves stages that rages from the cleaning of the paddy to packaging of the milled rice. It can be done in two system such as : the traditional rice milling system and modern milling system.
Problems in rice processing are :
Problem associated with  traditional processing system are:
- poor processing facilities
- poor processing techniques
- poor packaging
- poor quality of water
Problem associated with modern (commercial) processing system are:
- capital mobilization
- unavailability of raw materials
- inconsisteny in government policies
Problems associated with rice production:
- lack of basic mechanization
- poor quality of paddy
- limited irrigation facilities
Possible solutions are:
- provision of modern processing facilities
- provision of portable water
- irrigation facilities
- Government intervention in capital mobilization
- organizing if training programmes
- availability of farm input s/ basic mechanization.
I believe with this recommended possible solutions it will be able to increase rice production and quality of rice in Nigeria . if you have more ways to improve rice production you can do well to add to this ones
